I made a mistake today, and that mistake was opening the Joe Begeant essay on Alternet that my friend Ryan linked.It was only a mistake because it was too good to stop reading.
The title is hilarious and earnest, and the essay manages to tackle the question with a balance of insight and vitriol that stopped me from careening off the edge of despair and building a bunker in the Canadian Sheild so all this can blow over.
